Pathway to English How to Copy a Picture from
Google Images into a Document

  • Go to google.com. At the top right, click on the word "images"
  • Search in Google Images, for example, “fast boat”
  • Click on the picture you want.
  • Then there are two choices for the next link to click:  Visit Page or View Image. Click on the right side link, "View Image"
  • Now you should see only that picture in its full size on a white background. Right-click on the picture.
  • If you want to save the image in your computer you can do that. But the easier way to get it into your google.doc is to choose "Copy image"
  • Then open your google doc and put the cursor where you want the picture to be, and paste it there by pressing two keys on the keyboard at the same time: Control + V

Example:

  1. 1. Here is a Google Image search for fast boat. I like the first picture. When I clicked on it, see step 2.

google search results for fast boat

2.Then there are two choices for the next link to click:  Visit Page or View Image. Click on the right side link, "View Image"

click on view image

3. Now you should see only that picture in its full size on a white background. Right-click on the picture.  Choose "Copy image" Now it is saved (on your clipboard) so that the next time you type Control V it will appear again. That is called "pasting".
